Rivers & Waterfall
Water Surrounding Reverie
A downhill walk through the native forest and starting from the Casa Reverie brings you to a 10 m waterfall on the outer edge of the property.
The river and creek that border the Reverie sanctuary merge exactly there. Take a brief pause along the journey to observe the birds and enjoy more stunning views of the surroundings.
Bird-watching Spot
So far 81 species of birds have officially been identified on the Reverie property, with the families of seedeaters, tanagers, and flycatchers standing out.
The vast majority of species are found in the forested corridor that runs between the river and creek, or by the different micro-pools of the river that borders the property.
We are regularly analyzing how we can help maintain and even enhance the variety of birds living with us. Planting new trees and adding to our tropical garden is part of this strategy.
At different spots you will notice feeders and birding platforms for our birding enthusiasts.
Native Forest
Green, Greener, Greenest
Native forest covers a big portion of the Reverie property. To continue establishing and improving this natural haven for birds and travelers, we want to grow this native forest as much as we can.
Keep your eyes open for a type of vegetation type called Guadual. These are sizable areas where Guadua Bamboo grows profusely and they are typically seen in Colombia’s coffee region.

On your walks, admire the native forest with its endemic flora and fauna, and pay a visit to our creek, river, and waterfall. Open your ears for bird sounds and discover what our Reverie has to offer behind every turn.
